MAKE and TAKE home your own book written by Santa Ana Youth. Workshop for Community Arts has been working with El Sol students in writing workshops to create and publish a series of children's books. Each child in attendance will create their own book cover using Travieso Press printing tools and take home an original book.

First half of event:

BE PART OF SANTA ANA’s LIVING HISTORY!

UCI History and Chicano Latino Studies Professor Ana Rosas and her team of UCI students present an historical exhibit of handwritten letters created by the first parents of El Sol to their children expressing to them the importance of a quality,dual language education. Visitors will have the opportunity to write their own letter to be saved in the El Sol archives.

LIVE MUSIC with LOVERS SONICOS, Santa Ana native Moises Vasquez and his band will entertain with lively tunes and dance music.

Taco truck, free street tacos while they last...first come first served!

Story telling ; Readers from the Santa Ana Library will read books to children in book circle.

POETRY: a poetry station where visitors can create their own poems to take home using materials provided by Poet-in-Residence, Sue Cronmiller and the Poets of El Sol.

El Sol Folklorica: El Sol Student Dancers will PERFORM dances choreographed by Bertha

ART Activities-- Gallery of Student Work, Hands on Arts Activities faciltated by local artists
