SANE Clinical Skills Day (August 2022)

DCFNE's Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) Clinical Skills Day will build upon clinical skills and theory taught in the 40-hour SANE Adult/Adolescent Didactic Training. Learners will work in small groups in a simulated environment to practice conducting an external genital exam and speculum exam with Forensic Teaching Associates, as well as practicing the use of adjunct forensic assessment techniques (Toluidine blue dye, alternate light source, hymenal tracing) with experienced forensic nurse instructors.

The target audience for this event is Registered Nurses (RNs) or Advanced Practice RNs who have completed a 40-hour Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) Training.

This training is a LIVE in-person training. Participation will be limited and all participants will be required to follow DCFNE's COVID-19 safety policies.

This activity has been submitted to the International Association of Forensic Nurses (IAFN) for approval to award 5 Continuing Nurse Education (CE) contact hours. The IAFN is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation. In order to complete the training and receive your CE Certificate, you must attend all session and complete the required course evaluation. The planners, presenters, and facilitators have disclosed no conflicts of interest for this educational offering.
