Most Atheists are Humanists. So one of the first projects we created when our organization was first founded was to address hunger & engage in charity.
Sandwiches without Sermons was conceived by our amazing AD Brian. As a dedicated community advocate, Brian was disturbed by what he saw: Local churches & religious groups using food to lure people in. So Rhode Island Atheists decided to take up the mantle and do our own food distribution- No preaching. No proselytizing. Just a group of dedicated Atheist do gooders getting together to hand out Sandwiches to the homeless.
