Sandwell Stories Podcast Launch Event

Sandwell Stories is an audio project produced by Multistory where we talk to, and share, everyday experiences of local people.

In the first series, Multistory recorded stories with people they met on the streets, at home and in the workplace, from life-long market traders to college students, tea dancers to newly arrived families. They covered topics such as family values, the role of women in communities and social history.

The second series of Multistory’s podcast series was told through the voices of four poets and looks at the past and the present, the lives of a new generation, and a desire to belong. Mothers and fathers; sons and daughters; young people making a mark on the streets of Sandwell.

In the third series Multistory supported a group of eight 16-25year olds to create podcasts about topics which interested them. They learnt to research, edit, structure stories and market their podcasts to a professional standard. The programme ran over the course of 10 weeks and now we are inviting you to the official launch of their podcasts!

Come along and support young artists, listen to the stories that they’ve told and enjoy snacks and good company. It will be a casual event with the opportunity to chat and connect after the showcase. The event is free and there will also be refreshments provided, so do let us know any allergies or access requirements. We look forward to seeing you there!
