Sand Mandala Event in San Antonio
About this Event
The Tibetan Buddhism Center for World Peace is honored to host a rare and deeply meaningful event: the creation of a sacred sand mandala dedicated to Avalokiteshvara, the Buddha of Compassion.
Over the course of a week, three Tibetan Buddhist monks from the Gyuto Wheel of Dharma Monastery will meticulously construct this intricate mandala, offering visitors a unique opportunity to witness an ancient spiritual art form as it unfolds in real time. This special occasion coincides with the birthday of Tenzin Gyatso, who is revered as an emanation of the Buddha of Compassion—making this not only a cultural experience, but a profound moment for reflection on compassion, impermanence, and interconnectedness.
This event takes place at TBCWP. All are welcome during public viewing hours.
