Sanctified Trash: The Life and Times of Mona Mae - The Preview Show

Mona Mae hasn’t performed in 40 years, but this ageing southern belle decided to come out of mothballs. Lord help us all! Join this old queer as she faces a crisis of confidence while preparing for her 2nd coming (as a drag queen). There’s no telling what will come out of her mouth (though we do know what she’s put IN her mouth). Mona will most certainly keep you laughing and maybe make you cry as she shares stories from her long (very long) and sordid (very sordid) life.

Trigger warnings: ageism, homophobia, racism, sacrilege, sexism, sectarianism, sexual abuse, sexual acts, suicide, swearing, and transphobia. Laughter through tears is Mona’s favourite emotion.

This is a one hour, one-person show of Mona Mae’s 2024 Fringe Show. It is an updated (and hopefully more polished) version of last year's show. Following the show there will be a Q&A session with Mona Mae where you can ask her about the stories in the show and she will ask you for feedback on what you experienced.

This is a free/donation/pay what you will show. All money donated on the night will be given to Transmission Gallery to support their amazing artist run space.
