Join PSS Community Wellness for a fun, welcoming introduction to women’s flag football.
Flag football is blowing up! It's unique in its combination of camaraderie, teamwork, fun and physicality.
Flag football is a fun outdoor game — no wonder it's taking off.
- Female participation overall increased 55% in a single year, from 1 million to 1.6 million players.
- Women’s flag football was the No. 1 streamed discipline out of 60 disciplines at the 2025 World Games, attracting 171,000 unique viewers and accounting for 16% of total streaming users
- The NCAA formally added flag football to its Emerging Sports for Women program in January 2026.
- More than one million adult women play flag football—and adult women’s participation grew approximately 81% in one year.
- Men’s and women’s flag football will make their Olympic debut at Los Angeles 2028, creating a full pathway to elite international competition.
No previous football experience or elite athletic ability is required. Come ready to move, try something new, and meet other women from the San Jose community.
This is non-contact flag football. Tackling and intentional heavy contact are not permitted.
What to Expect
- Guided warm-up and introduction
- Basic flag football rules and positions
- Throwing, catching, movement, and flag-pulling instruction
- Beginner-friendly partner and team drills
- A short coached game
- Time to connect with other participants

Footballs, flags, and instructional equipment will be provided.
