Add some soul to your Summer! Join us for Soulful Sunday featuring a special "mini-brunch" at Urban Sanctuary and Recovery Café in downtown San Jose—just an easy walk from the San Jose Jazz Fest grounds.
This year, jazz arrives at Urban Sanctuary with "The Art of the Protest Song," featuring jazz arrangements of eight of our country's most memorable songs of protest. Our incredible quintet includes Neil MacPherson on Hammond B3, Adam Astrup on guitar, Dan Robbins on bass, Mike Shannon on drums, and the soulful artistry of vocalist Miranda Perl.
Schedule:
9:30 AM: Doors open for coffee & mini-brunch
10:00 AM: Free concert begins
11:00 AM: Coffee hour in the café
Before and after the concert, join us next door at San Jose’s hidden gem of healing and hope: Recovery Café San Jose. Come see how we love people recovering from addiction, homelessness, and mental health challenges back to life. The concert and coffee hour are entirely free; our Sunday collection will directly benefit the life-changing programs of the Recovery Café.
