Our February meeting will start at 6:30 p.m. with refreshments in Room 101 at the Casa del Prado. There will be no Little Rose Show until April, but there will be a Consulting Rosarian’s Corner plus a Silent Rose Auction and a Raffle. Our speaker will begin at 7:00 p.m.Please come hear renowned hybridizer and rose expert Ping Lim at our February meeting, speaking about “Adventures in Hybridizing Roses”. Ping Lim is recognized as a rose hybridizer known for developing innovative, garden worthy roses with exceptional beauty, fragrance and performance. With decades of experience in ornamental plants (Roses, Hibiscus, and Agapanthus…) breeding, he has introduced numerous award-winning varieties now grown and enjoyed worldwide. Ping’s work emphasizes combining modern aesthetics with strong disease resistance and landscape reliability. He has helped redefine contemporary roses for both gardeners and the floral industry. He currently serves as Chief Rose Hybridizer at Altman Plants, where he continues to push the boundaries of rose breeding. Here are some of the roses that have been hybridized by Ping Lim: True Love, True Serenity, True Serenity.
Directions to Casa del Prado, Room 101: The Casa del Prado building is immediately west of the Natural History Museum. Entrances to the Casa del Prado lead to an inner court. The rooms are accessible from the court. Room 101 is downstairs on the east end of the court.
