Created by Gail Tully, a midwife who has successfully facilitated countless breech births over her 35 years of experience in the field—this in-person comprehensive course is bound to be an invaluable asset for expert nurses and midwives. Taking Gail’s own story as inspiration, this course teaches how to free a stuck breech through Spinning Babies® understanding of pelvic diameters, incorporating Mary Cronk’s knowledge into Frank Louwen's brilliant insight.
Spinning Babies® Breech Basics is a course for any provider attending births as breech babies can arrive as a surprise or planned. Knowing normal breech rotations allows a provider confidence in understanding normal mechanisms and rotations for breech birth as well as being able to identify when things are not normal and restorative action is necessary.
This course looks at the breech baby’s relationship to all of the levels of the pelvic anatomy as it is being born. We will review maneuvers to assist in freeing a baby as well as WHY the maneuvers can be effective. Breech Basics will also cover case studies, videos, lecture, and simulations for the spectrum of ease for assisting at a mobile, upright breech birth. Although many providers don’t think that they’ll attend a breech, breech is really a doorway into understanding more about all births.

About the Trainer
Nicole Morales
Nicole Morales is a homebirth midwife in San Diego, California. She teaches Spinning Babies®, Resolving Shoulder Dystocia, and Breech Basics. She is also an instructor for the Spinning Babies® Aware Practitioner Workshop and co-author of the book The Breech Release: Opening Pathways for Midwifery and Prenatal Bodywork.
Continuing Education
As a full day workshop, this course provides seven (7) continuing education contact hours from ANCC. Spinning Babies® is accredited as a provider of continuing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation (ANCC). As a half day workshop, American College of Nurse Midwives (ACNM) has approved this course for three (3) CEs.

The Spinning Babies® Workshop is the prerequisite for taking Spinning Babies® Integration Workshops, the Spinning Babies® Certified Parent Educator Training or Spinning Babies® Aware Practitioner Workshop. You can attend a Resolving Shoulder Dystocia and Breech Basics Workshops before you have attended a Spinning Babies® workshop, but we recommend you attend the Spinning Babies® workshop workshop first.
Terms of Use
This workshop does not provide a certification in Spinning Babies®️ only a document of attendance. Participants will not be able to use the name Spinning Babies® to describe their services, such as offering Spinning Babies®️, sessions, or saying “trained in Spinning Babies” after registering for or attending this workshop. Participants may use concepts and techniques introduced in the workshop in the participant’s practices. Further training is available for eligible participants which does lead towards a contractual relationship for listing or certification and use of Spinning Babies®️ brand and name.
