Join us at Hennessey's Bar & Tavern located at 7811 Herschel Avenue in the Village of La Jolla (north San Diego, about 10 minutes from I-5) for our weekly backgammon tournament.We run a traditional knock-out style tournament each Wednesday beginning at 6pm with registration closing no later than 6:30. Byes will be awarded on a random basis. Everyone will be able to play at least two matches with a continuous consolation bracket for those eliminated from the main flight. Matches are 7 points in the main bracket and 1 point for the consolation with rebuys. Clocks are provided for the 7 point matches (12 seconds per move and 14 minutes of reserve time for each player, with leniency for new players). The doubling cube is used and the Crawford Rule is in effect.
$20 entry fee ($10 to the tournament pool and $10 food and beverage credit). Optional side pools will also be available. Free lessons between 5:30 - 6:00 pm."
