San Antonio Youth-Led Mayoral Candidate Forum

Mark your calendars for San Antonio's first-ever Youth-Led Mayoral Candidate Forum + Resource Fair! This event is a youth-driven initiative sponsored by the San Antonio Youth Commission, UP Partnership, Youth Do Vote, Trinity University, League of Women’s Voters San Antonio, Higher Education Advisory Board, Project Worth Teen Ambassadors, NXT Level Path Builders, CAST Schools, & Futuro SA; all organizations dedicated to fostering civic engagement and empowering young people in our community.

This 3-hour event provides a unique platform for young people in our city to connect directly with mayoral candidates. We aim to educate community members about the importance of local elections, share candidate's priorities around the top issues that matter to SA's youth, and inspire voter participation. There will also be a resource fair and candidate tabling component to provide families with activities, information, and FREE resources needed to make an informed decision and get out the vote!

Join us at the Laurie Auditorium on Tuesday, April 1 from 5:30-8:30 PM for this exciting event! This is your chance to engage with potential future leaders of our city and ask them the tough questions. ¡Marquen sus calendarios para el primer Foro Juvenil de Candidatos a la Alcaldía en San Antonio + Feria de Recursos! Este evento es una iniciativa liderada por jóvenes y patrocinada por San Antonio Youth Commission, UP Partnership, Youth Do Vote, Trinity University, League of Women’s Voters San Antonio, Higher Education Advisory Board, Project Worth Teen Ambassadors, NXT Level SA, CAST Schools, y Futuro SA; organizaciones dedicadas a fomentar la participación cívica y empoderar a los jóvenes de nuestra comunidad.

Este evento de 3 horas ofrece una plataforma única para que los jóvenes de nuestra ciudad se conecten directamente con los candidatos de alcalde. Nuestro objetivo es educar a la comunidad sobre la importancia de las elecciones locales, compartir las prioridades de los candidatos en torno a los temas más relevantes para la juventud de San Antonio e inspirar la participación electoral. Además, habrá una feria de recursos para proporcionar a las familias actividades, información y recursos GRATUITOS necesarios para tomar una decisión informada y salir a votar.

Info: Check-in will be open 30 minutes before the event begins. Get there early to be one of the first 150 attendees to receive a tote bag with free swag!

Info: Our youth moderator will open up the forum discussion by going over candidate and audience rules and guidelines. Each candidate will have 1-minute to answer each of the questions posed. Questions align with the top issues young people in the city care about (as gathered by survey results).

Info: Following the forum, families and students can attend the resource fair where over 20 organizations will be tabling and offering youth resources and information.
