Join the 2024 Kentucky Derby Festival fun - whether you're spectating from the comfort of your bed or racing in one with your team at the Samtec Great Bed Races!This year, we’re honoring the 150th running of the Kentucky Derby with our theme 'Celebrating Derby 150'. Whether you’re watching from the stands or racing with your team, this event promises loads of fun.
The action-packed event will take place on Monday, April 29, 2024. Get ready for a day filled with excitement:
1:00 PM: Tailgate Party Starts
6:00 PM: Parade of the Beds
7:00 PM: Races Begin
Admission is free with a 2024 Pegasus Pin®, and there’s a $12 KEC Parking fee.
Want to be in the thick of the action? Grab four of your friends or co-workers, build a bed on wheels, decorate it, and don a ridiculous costume for the race. You’ll be competing for more than just speed – awards include Fastest Course Times (in two divisions: champions & fun), Best Decorated, Most Entertaining, and the infamous Cone Eater Award.
