About this Event

Sammy Duke:

You'd never mistake Sammy Duke for anyone else the moment he starts performing onstage. Described as a "troubadour prog-rocker" by No Depression Magazine, he captivates audiences with his infectious live energy, spontaneous spurts of audience participation, self-deprecating wit, and folk-fusion sound that blends world-beat rhythms, and soulful vibes. With his musical diversity and engaging stage persona, Duke entrances and comforts audiences of all kinds. Sammy Duke is also highly recognized for his multi-instrumental skills, playing over a half-dozen instruments at once.

Outside of his own music, Sammy Duke can also be seen recording and touring as a sideman for several award winning Canadian artists. He’s appeared on NPR, Global TV, Breakfast Television, CBC Radio One, and CP24 Breakfast Weekend - the last of which tweeted "Our jaws are still dropped from the incredibly talented @sammydukemusic performance this morning!"

With a growing reputation for an "unorthodox playing" of instruments, thoughtful lyrics, and an absolutely unmistakable live show, Sammy Duke is a must see performer. "And if you're still not convinced, Duke's bluesy voice will get you.” (CBC Music)

Arun Pal:

Arun is well known as a multi-instrumentalist performer, composer, producer and recording studio engineer. He was also an accompanist/composer, highly recognized for his ability to play piano, drums and sing at the same time.

Arun has performed thousands of shows working with artists such as the late Matthew Osborne, Juno nominated band Eccodek, snack!, Rebecca Campbell, Order of Canada winner David Earle, Bob Egan (Blue Rodeo, Wilco), Kevin Fox (Steven Page/Chantal Kreviazuk), Sammy Duke, The Latin Fusion Trio, Luke Doucet and many more.

He has played venues such as CTV’s Canada AM, Budweiser Stage, Center in the Square, Festival of Friends, Hillside Festival, The River Run Center, Nashville, Oakville Jazz Fest, The Black Sheep in Quebec, The Canada Summer Games, Yonge and Dundas Square and performed for the Prime Minister’s National Campaign to mention a few. He has had the privilege of opening up for acts such as David Usher/Moist, The Skydiggers, The Bourbon Tabernacle Choir and Amanda Martinez.
