Awooo! Hello lovely community! I'm Sherry "Huggi-Ma", aka The Dirty Priestess, and I am honored to host this lovely ritual and dance celebration with you all.On Saturday, October 29th, you are invited to journey with the beloved dead, as well as dance for our ancestors in this special Harbin Samhain Halloween ritual and celebration. This is the time when the veil that separated our world from the next was at its thinnest, allowing the dead to return to the realm of the living, where their spirit and memory would be welcomed and celebrated.
On this night, we will gather and connect (costumes welcome!) and create opportunities to honor those that have passed on, as well as go to the magical realm of the Isle of Apples (the mythic place where souls go after death) to walk in the orchards of spirits and be reborn again. Live music and singing will be with Yari Mander, Lisa Mariel, and Devorah Levy. Then we will go deep into a dance for our ancestors while Dj Dakini(Australia) spins her deep and diverse tunes from 8pm-10pm. Get ready to open the veils and invoke all our relations!
LOGISTICS: We will gather and connect at 6:30pm in the garden event tent. We will share about our beloved dead, do a letter writing to those who have passed on while eating snacks (the "dumb supper"), engage in some singing, and go on a journey into the Isle of Apples together, releasing our beloved dead to the next plane. Bring a blanket or towel and pillow to lie on if you'd like, warm costume/clothes, and your awesome, introspective self.
DJ BIO:
International Dj Dakini is renowned globally for her refined ear and impeccable taste in music. An underground festival culture pioneer, she has been a pivotal part of global electronic music festival culture since the turn of the millennium. Dakini has a global following & fan base...she is originally from Australia, and is now based in the USA. Her 20 year+ Dj career has seen her play multiple genres all over the world, and she has been known to move dance floors at leading clubs, gatherings and festivals such as: Lightning In A Bottle, Burning Man, Envision Festival, Shambhala, Rainbow Serpent Festival & many more.
