**POTLUCK** Bring a dish to shareA liminal time of the year, often celebrated as the New Year in the Celtic, and other, calendars.
Treasure Valley Witches will be gathering at the Alano Club for a time of honoring the dead, laying the past year to rest, divination and more. An altar for the dead will be set up where people may set pictures of their departed loved ones, light candles for them, say prayers, make offerings, ask for blessings in the coming year, etc. There will be a "Lively Dinner," the opposite of a Dumb Supper. Dumb Suppers were observed as a way to honor the dead by eating in silence. With the Lively Dinner, we honor the dead by talking about them and sharing stories.
Dressing up is encouraged but not mandatory.
