Jake Horazdovsky graduated from UAF in 2010 with a master’s in civil engineering. His thesis project focused on the seismic response of bridge piers in frozen vs. unfrozen soils.
After graduating from UAF he started work at RESPEC, PDC Engineers at the time, where he is currently a Senior Structural Engineer. He has actively been involved in evaluating, assessing, and analyzing existing, new and historic structures along with conducting lateral analyses for wind and earthquake loads for private, commercial, and military clients. His design experience has ranged from Alaska Department of Transportation & Public Facilities (DOT&PF) structures to school renovations in rural Alaska. His military projects have spanned across Alaska and beyond, from Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson (JBER), Clear Space Force Station (SFS) to Hawaii and California.
