Samba Society makes its long-awaited return to Trópico de Nopal, for a renewed Labor Day Samba.
Three years ago, our circle went quiet, and it seemed Samba Society had reached its final sunset. But like the sun, samba always promises a new day — and this Labor Day, we're finally ready to play again. We invite you to join us, and complete the circle.
We're getting the band back together for a special reunion — to remember, and to be remembered. To reminisce, sing some old tunes, and bring a few new ones too.
Along with our lineup of original members — and some who will be with us in spirit — we'll have some very special guests sitting in. We are once again partnering with our longtime friend, Reyes, in the "backyard" of Trópico de Nopal, where we have always been at home.
Join us for a traditional roda de samba: old-school live samba the way it was always meant to be played, musicians seated in a circle, the audience gathered close around — no stage, no separation.
Come for the rhythm. Come to sing. Come to dance.
We will be one again.
