1960s. Known for his gravelly voice, this multi-talented guitarist/ singer/ songwriter has performed with great blues luminaries such as Big Joe Turner and Big Mama Thorton. Mayfield hosts his Saturday-afternoon KUVO Jazz show, "All Blues With Sammy Mayfield." He has gigged all over the world and made a name for himself during a three-decade stint as the musical director for the legendary soul and gospel shouter Solomon Burke. Sammy Mayfield IS a true musical legend.
