SWATT will be going "off site" to remove debris from a couple abandoned encampments. Shuttle and carpooling will be arranged on site at the upper Granite Reef Lot, across from the Hawes Trail ststem, just after the Safety Briefing at 8:30 AM. We will be joining Natural Restorations for this event.
Shovels, Rakes, Trash Bags will be provided. Please bring heavy work gloves, plenty of hydration (hydration packs recommended). Long sleeves, long pants, closed toed shoes (are a must) cooling cloths, masks/gators and hats are strongly recommended. Due to the nature of the sites, no youth will be allowed. Please dress and plan accordingly. If you have a sturdy wagon, that will help with the haul out.
The sites will require a short-ish hike into the area, as well as a short hike UP a hill to the large site. Bagging and hauling of trash, tents, bikes, crates and some furniture to the road side for pick up will be necessary. These areas have been affected by the storms and individuals in the area, and may be subject to alternative plans.
RSVP is a MUST so we can plan and communicate appropriately. Look for a Messanger Chat 24 hours before the event to coordinate logistics.
