Salt Lot Compost Site Tour + Pumpkin Smash!
About this Event
Save your Jack-o-Laterns for the first ever Salt Lot Pumpkin Smash!
We will start with a tour that will show you how compost is made on a mid-scale level and about Big Reuse's various waste diversion and community engagement efforts.
Afterwards, we will smash old pumpkins that will be made into finshed compost! You will have the opportunity to throw them against our concrete walls, drop them onto the ground, andor hit them with a baseball bat. Great way to let out your rage and help us break down all the pumpkins we recieve this time of the year!
Plan ahead: Please wear closed-toed shoes and comfortable clothes you don't mind getting dirty. Bring your own water bottle to stay hydrated.
