Celebrate the start of the Christmas season in style, with our fun-filled and friendly salsa, bachata and kizomba (SBK) party!The Bishop Grosseteste University Student Union where we host our SBK dance events, has a fantastic large & well-ventilated dancefloor space upstairs with a balcony.
There is also comfy seating areas (plus a pool table room) downstairs when you need a bit of a rest from dancing. It also has a huge, FREE car park.
There is also now low cost on-site accommodation available, which you can book on a first-come, first-served basis. Contact us for more details.
For an additional treat, we have booked the fantastic duo Alberto & Jolie as our guest teachers!
Alberto & Jolie are an internationally acclaimed dance couple from the UK, specialising in Bachata Moderna and Sensual. Based in Leeds, England, they are known for their captivating dance style, their passion for teaching, and for fostering vibrant dance communities. They lead workshops and host parties, focusing on dance connection, musicality, and technique, and are often featured in dance events across the UK.
As well as their classes, Alberto who is also a renowned DJ, will also be spoiling us with our tracks for the night!
Everyone over 16 welcome!
Even if you have never danced before and you would like a night out either to find out what a salsa party is like and to enjoy the music and great company. (We have a beginners class just for you, if you do fancy having a go!)
For those experienced dancers, boy do we have a night lined up for you!
7.00pm: Doors & bar open
7.30pm: Intermediate bachata class with Alberto & Jolie
8.30pm: Beginner/Improver bachata class with Alberto & Jolie
9.30pm-1.00am: Social party and dancing
Music throughout the night will be a mix of salsa, bachata and kizomba (60% salsa, 20% bachata and 20% kizomba) with a sprinkling of reggaetón, cha cha and urbankiz.
With of course some fun line-ups/animations thrown in!
