Ismael Rosa: Celebrating The 30th Anniversary Of His Renowned Album Vuelve A Mi After A Presidential Pardon Brings Him Back To The Stage

Chicago, IL — Legendary Salsa artist Ismael Rosa is celebrating the 30th anniversary of his renowned album Vuelve A Mi on Saturday, August 10th at 8 PM at Distro Music Hall 6815 Roosevelt Rd in Berwyn, Illinois. Known for his heartfelt melodies and vibrant performances, this is Rosa's first time headlining the stage after 30 years. This exclusive, limited-space show returns the magic that the Salsa world has longed to see after an unjust drug conviction took Rosa away with a life sentence, and a pardon from President Obama brought the music back.

Hailing from Lares, Puerto Rico, and raised in Arecibo's Barrio Santana, Rosa earned the nickname "El Jibarito," reflecting his deep connection to his roots. Rosa's career began with LaJusticia band, where he was recognized as the best "sonero" in the Midwest. He later formed "Ismael Rosa y su Orquesta," achieving major success with Vuelve A Mi, which includes the hit "Sentimental Fool." His unique fusion of Salsa, Merengue, and Bolero, inspired by the classics of the 60s, resonates with authenticity and nostalgia.

After a life sentence, a successful petition by his fans and the hard work of his persistent lawyer brought his story to the White House leading to a presidential pardon. Now, after years of being away, he's returned to the stage to enchant listeners with his distinctive style. His latest releases, "Perdoname" and "Y No Estas Tan Solo," under his label RMG (Rosa Music Group), have garnered acclaim. With upcoming projects, including a miniseries documentary about his called "Salsa Never Dies," Rosa continues to leave a lasting legacy in the world of Salsa music.
