Do you hate it when you have to shine on the social dance floor? Have you seen videos of yourself dancing and think you don't embody the salsa aesthetic? Do you just love salsa and love to move to the music? This class is for you! We are excited to begin our open level Salsa Bodywork and Shines monthly series! This class is open level, and the ideal student has at least mastered the timing of the basic step. In these classes, we will work on integrating our body movement into our shine work, with an emphasis on engaging our solar plexus and using our connection to the floor to deepen our understanding of how to best transfer our weight. We will use body isolation drills, footwork drills, and short combos to put it all together, all the while rolling in basic musicality so you can feel confident and expressive during your shines on the dance floor.
For students already on a class pass or unlimited monthly membership, this class is included.
Prices otherwise are:
First time student for the first class: $5
Drop-in. $20
6 class pass: $85 (with 2 month expiration)
There are more payment options depending on your level of interest. This series may continue into October depending on interest.
Be sure to wear comfortable clothing and shoes, although it is perfectly acceptable to take class in socks or bare feet. Be sure to bring water and arrive a few minutes early to register so we can start on time.
