How do land and language knit together in our memory?
In a special literary salon hosted by Jasmine Narcisse, co-editors Denizé Lauture and Eddy Toussaint Tontongi ask us to hear and reflect on selections from ‘THIS LAND, MY BELOVED/TE MWEN RENMEN AN/CETTE TERRE, MON AMOUR: A Trilingual Anthology of Contemporary Haitian Poetry’ alongside featured anthology poets Jeanie Bogart, Charlot Lucien, and Michèle Voltaire Marcelin.

The historic collection represents both cultural and humanitarian works which includes versions of poems in English, Haitian Creole and French by forty-seven authors writing in five different countries: Haiti, USA, Canada, France and Spain. Selected readings from the anthology will be in English.

ADMISSION: Suggested Donation. RSVP strongly recommended.
All donations support HCX free community programming.

About the Memwa/Evolisyon series
Haiti Cultural Exchange is celebrating our milestone 15th year throughout the month of June with a special anniversary series. Memwa/Evolisyon (Remembrance/Evolution) represents the alive nature of culture––weaving and building forward with the same roots that seeded all we have and everything we will be tomorrow.
The Memwa/Evolisyon series pays homage to our powerful community and the longtime artists who have helped ground HCX, while uplifting new and exciting artists around New York City. We welcome you to join us in remembering the past and look forward to the evolution of our community rooted in the arts & culture of Haiti and its Diaspora.
