Sally Lindsay is an actress, a presenter and a producer, who gained fame in 2001 for Coronation Street, playing the popular character Shelley Unwin for five years and in some much later episodes. Other key television appearances have included the Sky comedy-drama Mount Pleasant, the acclaimed Scott & Bailey, which she co-created with Suranne Jones, and the BBC sitcom sequel Still Open All Hours, as Kath Agnew, between 2013 and 2019. Since 2021, she has starred in The Madame Blanc Mysteries, broadcast on Channel 5 and Acorn TV. Sally co-created and co-wrote the series and is a producer with her production company, Saffron Cherry. Recent years have seen her with lead roles in some drama mini-series’ and early onscreen appearances have included comedies such as The Royale Family, Phoenix Nights and Fat Friends. Theatre work has seen her playing Marilyn Monroe in Bonnie Greer’s musical Ella, Meet Marilyn and Helen in a production of A Taste of Honey.
Sally has appeared as a presenter on over 100 episodes of ITV’s Loose Women and, in 2021, she presented the quiz show Tenable and, over many years, has narrated a wide range of programmes. Characters that she has provided voices for in animations include Piella Bakewell in 2008’s Wallace & Gromit: A Matter of Loaf and Death.
Steve White is a drummer, best known for his collaborations with Paul Weller, as a member of The Style Council and on ten of the singer-songwriter’s solo albums, from his 1992 self-titled debut to Catch-Flame! released in 2006. His passion for drumming developed at a particularly young age and later gained an interest in various genres, such as jazz. With The Style Council, he performed on many hit singles, including My Ever Changing Moods, Shout to the Top!, Walls Come Tumbling Down! and Have You Ever Had it Blue. In 1985, Steve was the youngest drummer to perform at Live Aid, while performing with the band. He later played drums with The Who at the Live 8 concert in Hyde Park. After The Style Council disbanded, he worked with a wide range of other bands and musicians, including the James Taylor Quartet. Steve has played extensively with his band The Players, as well as Hague and White, a soulful project with fellow musicians Chris Hague and Joel White. As a composer, he is responsible for music for The Madame Blanc Mysteries, starring Sally Lindsay, his wife. Steve also teaches drumming, while running workshops and masterclasses, as well as still being a highly active performer.
