A Ghost hunt at the Rifles Museum, The Wardrobe, Salisbury – Whispers in the dark and loud footsteps descending the stairs, the smell of lavender can also be smelt on the stairs, a black shadowy figure observing from the corner of the room. With a history dating back to 1200’s, The Rifles Museum opens its doors to Spirit Chasers paranormal to allow us to investigate the ghostly goings on ?
History of the location
The original building on the site was constructed in 1254.[2] It was rebuilt in the 15th century and was used to store the robes of the Bishop of Salisbury; hence it was known as the "Bishop's Wardrobe" or "The Wardrobe".
Acquired in 1979 and restored over the next two years the ground floor of The Wardrobe opened in 1981 displaying the Collections of the Royal Berkshire and Wiltshire Regiments. The displays and Collection now include items from the successor Regiments.
