Saline Wetlands Workshop Series

What makes a saline wetland different from other wetlands and why are these unusual places found here?

This introductory field workshop provides an overview of the Saline Wetlands Conservation Partnership and the work being done to conserve and restore local saline wetlands. Participants will explore the history of the landscape, the challenges created where urban and rural areas meet, and the laws and policies that influence wetland conservation.

The workshop will also introduce the distinctive vegetation found in saline wetland habitats and consider how plants help us understand the environmental conditions of a site.

• Saline wetland vegetation

Important field information:

This is an outdoor field workshop that will include hiking on uneven terrain. Closed-toe shoes are required. Participants should bring bug spray and dress appropriately for the weather and field conditions.

This workshop is weather permitting. If it must be canceled because of weather or unsafe conditions, registered participants will be notified by email at least two hours before the scheduled start time.

Attendance is limited to 15 participants because parking is limited. Advance Eventbrite registration is required.
