This event, open to all ages with no registration required, features a variety of cultural and historical experiences. Enjoy the Rhythms of Heritage performance led by Freddy Gipp, exploring Native American dance culture and traditions, and delve into Kansas history with traveling trunks from the Kansas Historical Society. Participate in a family weaving workshop led by Cherokee basket artist Lisa Baker, and learn about the Salina Indian Burial Pit in a presentation by Nona Miller of the Smoky Hill Museum. Additional highlights include a presentation on local Native American history by Storm Brave (Kaw Nation) and Dr. Erik Anderson (Haskell University), cowboy music and history with Jeff Davidson, and interactive activities like a scavenger hunt, Kaw language activities, a stick horse race, roping demonstrations, a horseshoe competition, and crafts. Free book giveaways for all ages will also be available—don’t miss this exciting celebration of heritage and frontier spirit!
