Turn a special keepsake into something funtional with Christine Williamson! Do you have an old shirt from a favorite parent or grandparent or souvenier tee shirt that's just gathering dust? Make something old into a new treasure by weaving strips of the fabric into new fabric. Your custom created fabric can be fashioned into a useful clutch purse and keep your memories alive! It is large enough for some essentials and your cell phone, or as a cosmetics bag. For an additional $10 Christine will turn your new fabric into a lined purse.
Sakiori comes from the Japanese words ‘saki’ for rag and ‘oru’ for weaving. It is an old traditional form of weaving to produce sturdy cloth, historically used for work clothing. Today, Sakiori can be appreciated for its ecological impact and for its fun colorful and textured character.
