New Horizon Engineering College Auditorium | Bangalore, KA

The Sakhi Festival conceptualised by Smt. Sisira Das is a unique celebration of India’s classical dance and music, envisioned as a space where tradition meets innovation. Rooted in the meaning of its name — Sakhi, meaning “friend” — the festival emphasizes companionship, collaboration, and community. It is dedicated to nurturing India’s artistic legacy by providing a dignified platform for emerging talent while honoring master artists. Through performances, lecture-demonstrations, and artistic exchanges, Sakhi fosters inclusivity, mentorship, and continuity in the classical arts.
The inaugural edition proudly features an exclusive performance by the legendary Padmabhushan Shobana, whose contributions to Bharatanatyam and Indian cinema have left an indelible mark on generations. An acclaimed performer, actress, and choreographer, Shobana embodies the values that Sakhi upholds — excellence, grace, and commitment to tradition. Her presence sets the tone for the festival’s vision: a celebration of timeless art forms through the spirit of sisterhood, artistry, and cultural pride.
