Our 4th year! Sake Day East is Back!Celebrate World Sake Day 2024


World Sake Day, October 1st, traditionally marks the beginning of the Sake brewing season in Japan. It is celebrated at tasting events all over the world. Join us at New England’s largest Sake Day celebration.

Sake Day East 2024 is an opportunity to taste more than 70 sake, learn from sake experts, enjoy delicious food and more.

In addition to our regular ticket, we are offering 40 VIP tickets that include early entry and many perks! (see VIP ticket information below)

Also, if you would like to learn more about sake , we recommend joining one of our guided tastings. These sessions will be led by well-known sake experts and feature specially selected sake. (see more information at the ticket selection page)

Guests receive a commemorative tasting cup and have access to tasting over 70 Sake and more! Light appetizers will be served. Additional food available for purchase.

The Giveback: A percentage of total event sales will be going to 2024 Noto Peninsula Earthquake Sake Brewery Support Project.

Tasting 1: The Sake of Niigata

Carrie Becker of Niigata Sake Selections

4:00pm – 4:30pm

In Japan, Niigata is synonymous with rice, sake, and snow. Explore the sake of Niigata

with Carrie Becker of Niigata Sake Selections to further to understand how the region

impacts the unique style of sake crafted by the 89 breweries located there.


Tasting 2: Rice: What’s in a grain?

Derek Whitaker of Atlantic Beverage Distributors

4:45pm – 5:15pm

There are nearly 3000 varieties of rice! Over 100 of those are sake rice. Does it make a

difference which one the brewer uses? Derek Whitaker of Atlantic Beverage Distributors

will show you how rice affects the sake of World Sake Imports.


Tasting 3: Exploring the magic of Sake Yeast

Joshua Neiderer of Joto Sake

5:30pm – 6:00pm

Without yeast there would be no sake! Yeast is the microorganism that converts sugars

into alcohol, but also creates aromas, flavors and textures in sake. Join Joshua

Neiderer as he takes you into the fascinating world of yeast.


Tasting 4: Let’s Roll Some Sushi!

Jaleel & Sara Wingard of The Sushi Class

Session 1: 4:00pm – 5:00pm

Session 2: 5:30pm – 6:30pm

Beginning your celebration of Sake by becoming a Sushi Expert! Jaleel & Sara of The

Sushi Class will guide you through a class on the art of sushi making. sharing recipes

and secrets of the craft.
