This two day seminar will cover Level 1, Level 2 & Level 3 (Phase 1) of the SAKA-UK Certification Training Programme.LEVEL 1. - Management of Catastrophic Bleeding.
SAKA-UK has teamed up with the Daniel Baird Foundation to deliver the most comprehensive Management of Catastrophic Bleeding Programme available here in the UK.
Here is what is covered;
This programme covers the following subjects:
• The human vascular system
• Effects of sudden blood loss
• Assessing injury
• Applying pressure to an open wound
• How to deal with an object that is still within the body
• Improvised and mechanical tourniquets
• Use of blood clotting agents (haemostatic powders and dressings)
• Wound packing technique
• Applying emergency first-aid to self
• Dealing with mass casualties
• Everyday carry for emergency response
The training provided is a mix of discussion and hands on, practical training using a variety of role play scenarios and specialist training tools.

LEVEL 2. - Knife Crime Awareness
The Level 2. Programme covers awareness of knife crime.
Here is what is covered;
• The law & self-defence
• Victim selection
• The 4 D’s – Distance, Dialogue, Distraction, Destruction
• Making yourself a hard target
• Escape routes, barriers and weapons of opportunity
• Situational & environmental awareness
& Awareness colour codes
• Proxemics
• Adrenal stress response - The 5 F's
LEVEL 3. - Defensive Strategies & Physical Intervention Skills
Level 3 covers intervention and physical defensive strategies and skills that could help save your life in the event of an edged weapons assault on your person.
• Forehand high line slash (often referred to as a number 1.)
• Backhand high line slash (often referred to as a number 2.)
• Straight thrust (often referred to as a number 5.)
Repetition is the key to developing the required learning coupled with increased levels of difficulty being added to each training evolution.
Safety equipment is provided and must be worn during this phase of training.
On completion of each training level participants will be awarded a Certificate of Training.
DAY ONE: SATURDAY 12th April 10.00am - 4.30/5.00pm
DAY TWO: SUNDAY 13th April 10am - 4,30/5,00pm
