Saints and Scholars Film Club

Comrades! We've gone and done it, we've organised a screening of The Field!

We're going to watch the film, afterwards we're going to have a little chat, and then, oh boy, we're going to go for a few pints! It's going to be very fun, it's going to be very cute, and you and your pals are very invited!

It's free in but please do bring a few quid (for example 2e, 3e, or 4e) to help cover the cost of the venue and also to donate to the Bohemian Cooperatives, who have been so lovely and kind as to let us use their space, The Spark.

Sheridan’s film is an enduring classic of Irish cinema, adapted from John B. Keane's 1965 play of the same name and centred around the iconic figure of the Bull McCabe (Richard Harris). It also presents an interesting way to approach a discussion of land ownership, colonialism, sovereignty, and Ireland’s relationship to the United States of America.
