Enjoy a cello concert in a music research performance hall
Join us at for this exciting performance to open the holiday season! Music group versaCello features Hamilton brothers Maximilian and Theodor Aoki, who arrange and perform contemporary popular music on two cellos.
Parking and refreshments will be provided.
About versaCello
Maximilian and Theodor Aoki are brothers from Hamilton, Ontario. Classically trained for twelve years, they created versaCello in 2014. Together, they arrange and perform contemporary popular music on two cellos. Since then, they won the 2015 JUNOs Turn It On: Sound Off competition, performed at Supercrawl 2015 and recorded with JUNO award-winning producer John "Beetle" Bailey. Both are studying Engineering at McMaster University while concurrently pursing exciting opportunities in music. They are now working with Emmy-nominated director Warren P. Sonoda, starring in his upcoming feature film Things I Do For Money and composing its original soundtrack.
About the LIVELab
The McMaster LIVELab is a 106-seat research performance hall designed to study music, dance, multimedia, and human interaction. It features advanced technology to measure brain and physiological responses, movement, and behavioral reactions during performances. The lab's goals include understanding performer-audience interactions, incorporating technology into creative works, and developing health-related and artistic technologies. Research conducted in the LIVELab has applications in neuroscience, business, health, education, public policy, and the arts.
About the Sage Conversations Series
The McMaster Institute for Research on Aging is hosting a series of community-targeted events that allow people to learn more about what’s happening at the University while leaving lots of space for questions and conversations.
MIRA has selected a mix of its most requested spots to visit on campus and some of McMaster’s leading aging researchers to participate and encourage more open engagement with those that we may not have the pleasure of meeting in the past.
