Come see and hear what it was like to experience a silent film back in the 1920’s! Theatre organist Jelani Eddington
will accompany the classic silent film,
“Safety Last!”
on Friday, March 7 at 7:00 p.m.
at Duluth’s First United Methodist Church (aka “The Coppertop”).
This event continues to celebrate the
recent renovation and expansion of the church’s Austin pipe organ.
All ages are most welcome. Free admission; a free-will offering will be received.
“Safety Last!” is a classic silent comedy starring Harold Lloyd, one of the most popular and influential film comedians of the silent era. The film includes perfectly executed gags and astonishing stunts, and one of the most famous images from the silent film era: Lloyd clutching the hands of a large clock as he
dangles outside a skyscraper above moving traffic.
Jelani Eddington is a renowned concert artist known for exceptional performances on the theatre pipe organ. His technical expertise and expressive artistry captivate audiences, earning him widespread
acclaim and a dedicated following in the concert circuit.
He has performed at numerous national and regional conventions of the American Theatre Organ Society and has produced over 30 theatre organ albums.
One of his notable performances on YouTube amassed over 3.3 million views as of June 2024!
