Safety, choice, medicalisation and profit; navigating our maternity service

This is the second of AIMS Ireland's get to gether and seminar series on topical issues in our maternity services in 2024. This day event will focus on four topics and will have guest speakers from service users,advocates, campaigners and health care professionals.

11am - 12pm Medicalisation.Dr Krysia Lynch will discuss the impact our new induction guidelines are having.

12pm - 1pm Choice . Six years on - our abortion services. Presentation by Lucy Peprah and Jane Xavier.

1pm - 2pm Lunch

2pm - 3pm Profit. The formula industry and the effects on mothers babies and failies. Presentation by Malvina Walsh of BFLGI and Maria OSullivan IBCLC

3pm - 4pm Safety. We will discuss the safety in birth by discussing the new Birth Trauma report from the Uk and the topic of Free Birth and its rise in popularit. presented by AIMS Ireland team and guests.

This will be a wonderful opportunity to network with other birthworkers and advocates and also to look at concerningareas of our maternity services.
