Safer Streets - Driving Under the Influence
About this Event
The Children’s Safety Village of Belleville is excited to continue its Safer Streets program, offering youth, teens, new drivers, and families an opportunity to learn about the risks of distracted and impaired driving and the importance of making safe choices on the road.
In partnership with Belleville Police Service, MADD Quinte, Co-operators, and the Ministry of Transportation, participants will take part in meaningful conversations and interactive activities focused on distracted driving, texting behind the wheel, driving impaired or high, peer pressure, decision-making, and how driving choices can affect personal safety and future insurance rates.
With winter just around the corner, our December* session will also highlight winter driving safety, including the added challenges that snow, ice, and changing road conditions can bring for new and experienced drivers alike.
And did we mention… we have a driving simulator to practice on? Participants will have the opportunity to experience safe decision-making behind the wheel in an interactive environment and explore how choices can make a difference before they ever hit the road.
We’re excited to bring our community together for these important conversations and help young drivers build the knowledge and confidence to make safer choices on the road.
