About this Event
The Safe Space Notts training is aimed at workers/ volunteers in Nottingham’s Day and Night-time Economy and Hospitality Industry. Delivered by Equation and It's in Nottingham.
These free in person sessions are part of Nottingham’s partnership response to improving the safety in our city. This training aims to provide businesses and employees in the Night-time economy with awareness of how to respond towards incidents of violence and abuse in venues or public spaces.
The session is 2 hours long and attendance at this training is part of the requirement to become a Safe Space Pledge venue.

Training Session
The Safe Space Notts training sessions will increase your understanding and awareness of:
- Recognising violence, harassment and abuse in venues and public spaces
- Consent and sexual harassment
- Bystander intervention & challenging inappropriate behaviour
- Myths and stereotypes that perpetuate gender-based violence
- Creating safe spaces in venues
- Supporting victims and survivors
- Safe Space Notts initiative
The training session will include discussion of sensitive subjects, including sexual violence and abuse, and sexual harassment. Some participants may find these topics distressing or triggering. Please take care of your wellbeing throughout the session and feel free to step out at any time if you need to. If you need support before, during, or after the session, please let us know and we’ll do our best to help
Participation is restricted to individuals aged 18 and over.
