The Safe Sleep Community Council, comprised of representatives from organizations like Piedmont Columbus Regional, Safe Kids Columbus, Department of Public Health, the American Academy of Pediatrics, Childcare Resource Center and more, will host a symposium to educate the public on safe sleep practices for babies. Breakout discussions will include AAP safe sleep, motivational interviewing, and a review local data.The event will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 16 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Columbus Health Department on Veterans Parkway. Sarah Gard Lazarus, D.O., and Bridget Hamilton BSN, MPH, are the featured speakers.
For professionals who council, educate or provide health information to parents or caregivers such as nurses, medical students, healthcare providers, childcare directors and others. Nurses eligible for 1.25 CE hours.
Pre-registration is required at Piedmont.org/SafeSleep24. You can attend the event in-person or virtually (link will be sent out after you pre-register). All registered attendees will complete a short pre/post survey. In-person attendees will enjoy a boxed lunch.
