Safe Sitter

Designed for students in grades 6–8, Safe Sitter is a nationally recognized program that equips preteens and young teens with the skills they need to be safe, responsible, and confident when they're home alone, caring for siblings, or babysitting for other families.

Whether you're preparing your child to stay home during summer break, help with younger siblings, or begin babysitting for neighbors and friends, this training provides the skills and the confidence they need. Students learn life-saving skills like CPR and what to do if there is severe weather. The lessons are filled with fun activities and role-playing exercises. The curriculum is medically accurate and developmentally appropriate.

Classes are held at Junior League Headquarters at 4319 Carondelet St. and are $80 per student. There will be 32 students per class. Students will need to bring their own lunch. The Junior League of New Orleans will provide snacks.
