About this Event
We recently completed a Safe haven audit and gathered valuable feedback. Many Safe havens expressed interest in further support and training opportunities.
This training days has been organised in partnership with Isligton Safeguarding Children Partnership to help strengthen and support you in your roles as Safe havens.
Though training is not compulsory, we strongly recommend attending if you haven’t received child safeguarding training before, or if you feel you would benefit from a refresher, especially if you regularly engage with children, young people and families across the borough, but everyone is welcome.

Cost: Training is free and free lunch will be provided.

Introduction to Safe Havens

Level 1 : Introduction to safeguarding and child protection training delivered by the Islington Safeguarding Children Partnership.
Anyone who works or volunteers with children has a responsibility to help keep them safe. This means being able to recognise and respond to potential signs of abuse as well as understand safeguarding and child protection procedures
This introductory safeguarding and child protection training provides these core skills, giving learners the fundamental knowledge they need to protect children.
Aims and Objectives:
- Understand what Safeguarding children is,
- Be able to spot signs of abuse, harm and neglect,
- Understand what appropriate action should be taken,
- Understand the importance of information Sharing and Multi-agency working,
- Understand your role and responsibilities
Who can attend this trianing day?
Safe Haven staff. Safe havens are welcome to send one representative or several team members.
