Join The Saddle Fit Academy for a day of learning the basics of Saddle Fitting and the importance of having your saddles checked. We will talk about English and Western saddles. Topics to include:- Saddle Trees
- parts of the saddle
- what to check for safety
- basic anatomy of the horse important for saddles
- discussion of saddle design
- discipline differences
- on the horse, what areas to feel
- with rider up how to check the saddle
- rider balance in the saddle
- pads
- and more!
This is a full day of learning. There will be a break for lunch midday, so please be prepared with either a packed lunch or to go out and get lunch.
Winter in Maine can be cold, so while we will be in the warm for a portion of the day, be ready with warm clothes to be out in the barn as well.
