Annual General Meeting
SADA is committed to ensuring that your Branch has a functioning Branch Committee and is properly represented on the SADA National Council to represent issues affecting members in your Branch.
Your Branch Committee is essentially a brain trust of such thinkers and doers, who analyse difficulties facing the members at a grassroots level and then look at ways to solve the problem or escalated at the national level.
As with all brain trusts members must contribute to keep your branch dynamic, fresh and relevant in a constantly changing dental ecosystem.
Branch Committee & Officers
The management, control, direction, and general business of the Branch vests in the Branch Committee.
This opportunity will be used to ensure that a Branch Committee is appointed and consists of as many Branch Members as is necessary.
The Branch Committee will then elect from amongst its members a President, Vice-President, Honorary Treasurer, and Honorary Secretary who shall be the officers of the Branch. As far as possible, the officers shall be members of the National Council. The Executive of the Branch Committee shall comprise of at least the President, Honorary Treasurer, Honorary Secretary, and at least one National Council member and one other member of the Branch Committee as it deems appropriate.
The term of office of all committee members of the Branch shall be for 4 (four) years and may serve for 1 (one) further consecutive terms of 4 (four) years in the same office.

About the evening and Presenter/s
Devon Rossouw
Although he’s no doctor, Devon Rossouw is a young and dynamic leader at the Loud Group, having achieved the position of Managing Director at the agency before the age of 30. With nearly a decade of experience in marketing, the majority of which is in the ever-evolving field of digital marketing, Devon has a deep understanding of the digital landscape and how to effectively navigate it.
He has been working with the South African Dental Association since 2017 and has also had the privilege of working with other notable healthcare brands such as The South African Society for Periodontology, Implantology and Oral Medicine, The Dental Assistants Association, and Chris Hani Baragwanath - Department of Speech Therapy and Audiology.
Together with the talented team at Loud, Devon is dedicated to delivering outstanding results for his clients. He and his team always bring their A-game to every project, ensuring that each brand they work with stands out and shines in a crowded and noisy marketplace.
Esmeralda Kerlen
Esmeralda Kerlen has the unique combination of a Human Kinetics Engineering Degree, which combines traditional engineering with insight into the human body, and 10+ years of experience in dealing with ergonomics in Africa and Europe. This allows her to not only offer her clients ergonomic skills but be able to combine them with practical engineered solutions, especially in industrial environments.
After finishing her B.Eng. degree in Human Kinetic Technology in the Netherlands, Esmeralda worked for approximately 2 years as an occupational health and safety consultant in Leiden. Here she was trained in occupational health and safety legislation and in the practical implementation thereof. Being exposed to all aspects of her consultancy work, Esmeralda soon discovered that her passion was in ergonomic-related issues.
After immigrating to South Africa, she gained invaluable experience in various industries regarding the subject as an ergonomics consultant, trainer, and manager. Her combination of education and relevant experience in ergonomics has enabled her to be accredited by the professional affairs board of ESSA as a CPE (certified professional ergonomist). Her aim is to further promote ergonomics and its benefits in South Africa and the rest of Africa.
