What in blazes--might you ask--is Sad Hour?Well, maybe you didn't get that gift you wanted for Christmas, this year. Maybe there was a lump of coal or three in your stocking, or your tree looks like Charlie Brown's. Perhaps your New Year's date stopped responding to your texts, you're missing a lost loved one, or you've just got a severe case of the Winter doldrums.
Whatever the reason, during the season of good cheer, there's always a hint of sorrow... And you know what?
That's okay! We are here for you!
On Friday, December 27th, SAD HOUR returns to The Bug Jar!
From 5 pm until 8 pm, yours truly will be spinning a hand-selected mix of sad country songs, all on vinyl. From Hank Williams to John Moreland; from Townes Van Zandt to Emmylou Harris; and from Dolly Parton to George Jones, I'll be slinging some of the saddest songs in history, for your listening and commiserating pleasure!
So if you're feeling down this Holiday season, don't just drown in them, alone! Come on down to The Bug Jar, and dunk your leftover holiday cookies and your sad times in the warm crackle and pop of vinyl sorrow, tip back on a few shots of whiskey, and bring a friend to share the memories: The good times and the bad. Because when we share our sorrows, we feel a little bit better about everything.
