Sacred Roots and Mehfil-E-Qawwali

An evening of stirring melodies awaits at the KCC Terrace as Momin Khan and Danish Hussain & Group come together for two special performances at AMI Arts Festival 2026.

With Sacred Roots, Momin Khan lets the sarangi take centre stage, moving beautifully through classical, Sufi, folk and contemporary influences. Known for its haunting, almost vocal quality, the instrument finds fresh expression in the hands of an eighth-generation sarangi player from the Jaipur Gharana.

The mood deepens with 'Mehfil-E-Qawwali', as Danish Hussain & Group fill the Terrace with the soaring voices, poetry and devotional fervour of Qawwali. Rooted in the Sahaswan Rampur Gharana, the performance draws from a rich repertoire of Sufi verse and classical tradition.
