All are welcome to join us for this free event open to the public. No experience necessary. We will sing from The Sacred Harp, 2025 Edition. Loaner books will be provided, and books will be available for purchase.
We'll start with a singing school at 10am, potluck dinner on the grounds mid-day, and singing until 3:00 pm.
Shape note singing is an American a cappella tradition. Characterized by open 4-part harmonies and a powerful sound, shape note singing is music designed primarily for participation, rather than for performance. For more information about The Sacred Harp or shape note singing, visit fasola.org
Please contact Dallas Gambrell ([email protected]) or Rachel Speer (301.943.0515 or [email protected]) with any questions.
