A communal tea ceremony for our hedgerow hero... the Hawthon.
About this Event

Join Hull-based creative and founder of Cuppa Kindness® Mindful Tea, Kitty Hargreaves, for a gentle outdoor gathering celebrating one of Britain's most beloved native hedgerow trees: the hawthorn.

Surrounded by nature at Rewilding Youth's Rewilding Space at East Hull Community Farm, we'll explore the rich folklore and traditional history of hawthorn before sharing a mindful tea ceremony using Kitty's hand-blended Sacred Circle tea, inspired by hawthorn and complemented with rose and rosehip.

The session offers a chance to slow down, reconnect with yourself and spend time in thoughtful conversation with others. Guided by folklore-inspired journalling prompts, you'll be invited to reflect, write, share (if you wish) and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. Whether you're curious about native plants, enjoy mindful practices, or simply want to spend time outdoors in good company, this workshop offers a welcoming space to pause and connect whilst learning a little something about our magical UK native hedgerows.

Together we'll:

  • Discover the folklore and traditional uses associated with hawthorn.
  • Experience a mindful outdoor tea ceremony.
  • Respond to reflective journalling prompts inspired by nature and story.
  • Share thoughts and conversation in a relaxed, supportive group (participation is always optional).
  • Spend time amongst trees, celebrating the beauty and significance of our native hedgerows.

No previous experience is needed... just bring weather-appropriate clothing, something to sit on if you'd like extra comfort, and an open mind.

This workshop is aimed at adults, but calm children and young people are welcome if accompanied by an adult (please book a place for each individual).
