"Sacred Alchemy Visions" by Rachel Ann Kendrick Opens July 6 at Positive Space TulsaEncounter a world where spiritual themes meet technology in an immersive art exhibition that pushes the boundaries of creativity. Artist Rachel Ann Kendrick has created a diverse range of artworks that challenge conventional notions of existence and explore the intersection of physical and spiritual realms, including an intricate robotic sculpture that seems to come alive to abstract paintings that evoke a sense of otherworldly beauty; each piece invites you to contemplate the mysteries of the universe and our place in it. The exhibition also features an instrumental soundtrack created by the artist to complement the work. The music ranges from ethereal and ambient tones to pulsating beats and experimental sounds, creating an atmosphere that ties all the themes together. Overall, Kendrick’s exhibition is a captivating exploration of spiritual alchemy, ideas about technology, and creativity.
About the Artist: Rachel Ann Kendrick is a multidisciplinary artist based out of Oklahoma City. She has honed her skills and creativity to produce compelling and thought-provoking works of art that often intersect multiple ideas of traditional art, robotic sculpture and art installation. Most recently, Rachel’s unique style and artistic vision have garnered attention in the art world leading to local and regional exhibitions, including at the Fort Smith Regional Art Museum in Arkansas.
"Sacred Alchemy Visions," by Rachel Ann Kendrick will open 5-9pm, Saturday, July 6, 2024 and will continue through Saturday, July 27. Gallery hours during the exhibit: Thurs, 6-8pm; Fri, 5-9pm; Sat, 12pm-5pm and by appointment.
Positive Space Tulsa is located at 1324 East 3rd Street in the Pearl District. Positive Space Tulsa was founded by local artist Nicole Finley (she/her). An art space dedicated to Womxn artists - the first and only in Oklahoma - Positive Space Tulsa believes: The letter “x” in Womxn recognizes all women, including gender expansive identities. Positive Space Tulsa is for women, nonbinary, genderfluid, genderqueer, and agender artists (excluding those who identify as male/men). Womxn is pronounced the same as woman or women.
