Join us on Sunday, October 12 at 4 p.m. at St. Benedict Cathedral for an unforgettable afternoon of powerful music in Sacred Airs & Majestic Pipes, conducted by Roger Kalia and featuring renowned organist Robert Nicholls. The program opens with the serene beauty of Johann Sebastian Bach’s Air on the G String from Suite No. 3 in D, followed by Edward Elgar, Serenade for Strings in E Minor, Op. 20. The first half of the program continues with the dramatic Fantasia in G Minor, for organ and strings and Marcel Dupré's, Cortège et Litanie, Op. 19, No. 2.
The journey continues in the second half of the concert with the lush lyricism of Frederick Delius’s Walk to the Paradise Garden (arr. Dom Gregory Murray) from "A Village Romeo and Juliet," and concludes with the bold and brilliant Concerto for Organ, Timpani, and Strings in G Minor by Francis Poulenc—a breathtaking finale blending sacred grandeur with orchestral brilliance.
Tickets are available beginning Tuesday, Sept 2 online or by calling the EP Box Office at 812.425.5050.
